Leopard & Specs

Can I get a big "hip hip hooray" that February is finally over!? We are one month closer to warm weather! I was browsing old photos on my phone the other day, and it nearly pained me to run across some from my mom's pool last year. Will summer ever come!?

My poor little tot is so sick. Double ear infections, cold-induced asthma, congestion, terrible cough, and tummy trouble. Winter is cruel. We went to the doctor yesterday, and before we walked into the office I took Sam into the bathroom only to discover that he'd had a #2 accident in his unders. Poor kid couldn't keep it in (tummy trouble)! Of course I had nothing on me. Stellar mom.

After some serious wipeage, as best I could with toilet paper, and wrapping his pants and unders in paper towels, we headed out of the restroom and into the doctor's office with our heads held high (well, my head held high. Sam was unphased). No embarrassment here! It is what it is!

Is it just me, or do Meg and I only talk about potty things now? Mothers, we are.

I was not feeling myself the day we took these pictures, and I couldn't really figure out why. I hope I'm not the only one that has those days.

Maybe it was my straight hair? I feel like a hag when my hair is straight. That seems logical, right?

Stripes

This weekend I was knee deep in poop, and throw up. My poor littles were, well still are, sick. I thought I'd post my church attire to help myself feel refreshed from being, pardon my bluntness, shit-slapped in the face. I was changing V's diaper, lifted her bum to wipe, and well you know the rest...

Here's to a happy Monday, and hoping my kiddos get well soon so I can shower and clean my house!

P.S. Spring please come soon, please!

P.P.S. Run and get one of these comfy blouses from H&M, I'm in love.

Oh, and Cat telling me a poo story involving Samson, time-out and his retaliation. Need I say more? D.Y.I.N.G.

Mod Mod World

This outfit was inspired by Karen Walker's NYFW runway designs. I'm loving the orange with hunter green, mixed with muted colors. These are the Autumn/Winter 2013 looks, so I guess I'm a bit early! I can't help but think ahead!

I'm currently basking in the southern sun down in St. George for a quick President's Day getaway with my little fam. Mike is off golfing with some of his "buddies" (the universal dude term for friends), so it's Mamma time for me with my sweet K and V. The sun down here does something to my soul! It's amazing, and yet cruel. Cruel because it tricks me into thinking spring is just around the corner, and when we're home it absolutely is NOT.

Wishing you all a sunny, soul-brightening holiday today. (Sending out all kinds of good juju to entice spring to get here STAT!)

Bag Lady Chic

If that is even a thing...and if it is, this grandma coat of mine is it's shining star. My sister actually asked if I inherited it when our grandma passed away. And to that I said, "Grandma only wishes she had a coat this awesome."

It's even awesome with a missing button. And that isn't getting fixed until I gather up our mini sewing kit, the extra button and hand them to my husband. You read that right. Stellar guy.

Let it be known I do not feel like myself with straight hair.

Cable Knit

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Mine was busy, but good!

My second job is working with a catering company. I work sporadically (I recently watched Clueless) so it's really fun when I work there. We work hard, and play hard, and dance and laugh a lot. It's long hours and hard to be away from my kids, but I gotta.

Saturday, my sis and I pretended we were New Yorkers, and drove to Salt Lake City in a blizzard, with our kids and walked around City Creek Center. I had V strapped to my chest, and K in the stroller. It was snowing beautifully, and I wish I had brought my camera, but hey, that's just too much crap! I felt like I was in a dream, and right then and there I was loving this cold winter. The feeling didn't last long.

I never use my carrier for V, and I was loving being able to look down at her sweet face right there, and kiss her every second. The kids did so well with all our walking around, I'm one blessed Mommy!

Beatles & Buttheads

Put me in front of a camera for long enough and I'm bound to act like an idiot.

Good day.

Also, when we happen to invade private property and block access to said property, do the owners of trespassed property need to act like total buttheads when they need to get by "to feed"?

Hmmm, maybe so. Illegalities and all...

All Black

Sometimes I like to dress in full black attire.

This fur vest makes me feel like a warrior.

Also, my neck is killing me! Cat and I, along with her sis, went to an extreme sport place with tons of trampolines and foam pits. We were pretending to be all young hot stuff, and showing off for our kids, doing all kinds of flips and trick. Now we're paying the price, oy. We're too old for that crap!

Ghetto Gossip Girl

Obviously Blair and Serena ('scuse me, B and S) would never be caught dead holding a Target handbag or a fountain Diet Coke, *GASP*, but here I am channeling my inner Upper East Side, in the most ghetto fabulous way possible.

Oh, we've not discussed my Diet Coke drinking habits...

Hi, my name is Cat and I'm a dietcokeaholic.

To make myself feel better I often refer to myself as a Local Diet Coke Connoisseur. You need to know the best gas station in Utah County for your Diet Coke fix? I'm the one to ask. Ever unclear of which fast food joint carries Coke products? Lemme direct you. Curious which straw is ideal for your tasting experience? I'll tell ya. Wonder why two lids on your fountain delight is primo? I'm here for you.

Some say they believe when drawing my blood, they're sure to see it fizz.

And now, I shall leave you with that image...

Style Mamas

We were so excited to see this Style Mama Link Up on a bunch of our favorite blogs, and jumped at the chance to put up our own post. Nothin' like connecting with other moms through the internet!

One of the things we love about fashion is that it's ever evolving. We haven't yet found a way to get bored with it! But even through the changes in fashion, we find ourselves threading a commonality from trend to trend, and that is comfort and ease, which obviously accommodates our full time jobs as mothers. We want to be able to to attend to our kiddo's every need, without the fuss of cumbersome fashion.

Another important thing about our choice in fashion is cost. With both of us being on tight budgets, we can't be frivolous with our spending, so we search for deals like you wouldn't believe, and stick to the cheaper stores!

Meagan
Mom to Kian (3) and Vada (1)

The three of us are always on the go. Being a mom of two, throw two jobs in the mix, and things get pretty hectic.

To accommodate my busy lifestyle, I like to keep it comfy, but my wardrobe has to be pretty versatile, so I typically jazz it up a little with fun tops and printed pants.

My style necessities are:
1. A baggy knit sweater (or 17 of 'em)
2. Flat black boots/booties
3. Collared button up

Mama's Outfit:
Button Up: Forever 21 - $18 | Sweater: Forever 21 - $15 | Jacket: Forever 21 - $20 | Jeans: H&M - $20  | Boots: Forever 21 - $16 | Beanie: Gap - $10

Caitlyn
Mom to Samson (2)

We are a silly pair, Samson and I, and we get along best if we're being active/goofing around (boys and their energy!). I never want what I'm wearing to inhibit my play with Sam, but I'm also unwilling to forgo form over function.

However, don't hit up my house before noon, or you'll typically encounter Frump City.

That being said, my three style necessities are:
1. Leggings of all prints and fabrics
2. Flat boots/booties
3. Longline tops

And of course I always need my faux leather jacket or a coat to throw on during these frigid Utah months. (Where the freak is summer already!?)

Working as a part-time cosmetologist gives me the opportunity to dress up my daily wear a little, so I definitely use it as an excuse to throw on a few of my nicer items!

Golden Maxi

I think you should brace yourselves to see this maxi a lot, because I'm planning on wearing it the entire year through.

I saw it in Urban Outfitters Holiday catalog, and I about died. I wanted it so bad, but not the $99 price tag! Ugh, why can't I have money so all my problems will be solved (first world problems)!? I slowly pushed it out of my mind. I was thrilled to see it on sale for $30 and snagged it quick. Haven't had one regret 'bout it either.

♡ Casual Valentine ♡

I'm one of those.

A St. Valentine's Day hater. It's a silly holiday, and a silly commercialized concept. I do enjoy, however, the excuse it gives me to don frills and pastels. As well as neons, saturated girly colors, and the like.

I'm not at all opposed to wearing these red cords all year, but it's so beautifully cliche to pull them out for this winter holiday. Am I right, or am I right? The same goes for the Fourth of July. Aaahhhhh the Fourth of July...summer, heat, swimming, watermelon...oh crap, I can feel myself slipping into a coma...but it seems like an enjoyable one.

Cozy Valentine

What a difference a day makes.

I was sitting at my computer this morning staring at the screen for a good 15 minutes, and couldn't think of a single word to put down.

On the way to Sundy dinner at my in-laws there was a storm a brewin' outside. Naturally, when we left the roads were getting pretty bad. They weren't icy yet, just slushy and wet. I was driving in the middle lane on a four lane freeway when suddenly the car next to me in the left lane started to swerve over into me, because of a car in front of it that was drastically slowing down. I had to swerve right so I we wouldn't collide. I started sliding right and over corrected left and just went spinning out of control. I was yelling, "No, no, noooooo!" while K was screaming in the back. We spun three times across traffic all the way into the very left lane just centimeters from the cement median. We were faced against traffic with oncoming cars heading our way. I panicked and whipped the car around as fast as I could to get my ass out of there.

I was holding back tears on the way home, and K kept asking, "Mommy what happened?"
I said, "The roads are slippery, and our tires started sliding." then for some reason he said, "Mommy, was that a skeleton that was spinning our car around?" I started laughing so hard! Thanks for lightening the mood little buddy, I'll love you forever for that.

How we made it out alive is nothing short of a miracle, and I'm feeling so blessed having been watched over by my Heavenly Father. I'm still shaking hours later, and cant stop kissing my babies. You really never know what's going to happen in life, and I'm glad we're still here.

Now it just seems terribly silly to post an outfit, but we must carry on.
